This internship is intended for students who already have a solid technical foundation and want to take the next step: learning how advanced algorithms are developed, tested, and integrated into production-quality software as part of an experienced engineering team. Along the way, you will gain hands-on experience with professional software development practices, including collaborative design, code reviews, testing, and continuous integration.
- Design and implement algorithms for processing 3D point clouds and meshes, including:
- Filtering and denoising point clouds and meshes
- Object detection and segmentation using techniques such as clustering and graph-based methods
- Merging and repairing partial meshes
- Prototype and evaluate new approaches based on scientific literature and your own ideas
- Develop efficient, maintainable C++ software for integration into our production pipeline
- Validate and optimize algorithms using real-world sensor data
- Collaborate closely with experienced software engineers and researchers through design discussions, code reviews, and testing
